Grandma’s Pecan Pie

| Pastry |
| 150g butter |
| 125 ml water |
| 350g flour |

| Filling |
| 150g softened butter |
| 100g light brown sugar |
| 3 large eggs, well beaten |
| 120ml corn syrup |
| 1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
| 1 cup pecan pieces |
| Pinch salt |
| 24 pecan halves to decorate |

| To Make Pastry : |
Boil butter and water and pour over flour in food processor.
| Blend until mixture forms a soft ball. |
| Chill for an hour before rolling out to line a 23cm flan tin. |
| Cover with foil and weight pastry with dried beans or pastry weights and partially bake at 180 degrees for ten minutes. |

| To Make Filling : |
| Cream butter and sugar; beat eggs and combine. |
| Stir in syrup, salt, vanilla and pecan pieces. |
| Blend well and pour into pie shell. |
| Top with pecan halves and bake at 160 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes. |
| Serve warm with cream or icecream. |
| Serves 8 people. |
